The 'Last standing Vigilante'

THE CITIZEN VIGILANTE
What if a library or a classroom block is built in his name?? Better still; say a foundation is set up in his name. The “Vigilante Ami du Community Library” or “The Martin Ahmidu Foundation”
“A vigilante is described as an individual or a group who undertakes law enforcement without legal authority or illegal authority. The behavior of a vigilante is rationalized by the idea that legal machineries that are adequate for punishing criminals are either nonexistent or insufficient.”
The utmost question still stands, “how do we encourage such acts by citizens of the country”.
This act of fidelity to one’s country should be nurtured as early as possible. I remember in my school days when people who were quick to let out the truth were called silly names and tagged in the worst way possible. I still question myself what the outcome would have been if there was a way of rewarding these people. Assuming there was a foundation that supported students who were honest with the truth and stood by it no matter what. Assuming we lived in a society that did not look at people who are critical with the truth as having an unconventional way of life. Assuming the zeal or vehemence for the right thing to be done is inculcated in each and every child at an earlier age. What society would we be building? Yes, your guess is as good as mine, the right one.
It comes to me easily and without blemish that some people at the helm of affairs would not want to have such a society. This is because it would be close to impossible for them to meddle with the affairs assigned to such people.
Pertinent and pragmatic measures must be put in place if we all are itching for numerous citizen vigilantes in Ghana. It does not and would not come easy as it takes people with stern ethos and foresight to live the life. Until then, the norm of encouraging individuals to emulate the lifestyle should be fostered.
Join me in congratulating the honorable man who has fought and continuous to fight for his motherland despite all the odds confronting him. Honourable Martin Amidu, we are proud of you, Ghana is proud of you.
SALUTE!!!!!!!
